The 2009 Award night was held on Tuesday 15 September 2009 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney and was a celebration of new Australian creative talent.

The Awards were hosted by triple j's Robbie Buck, with a cast of creative industry luminaries including Liane Rossler, Director of Dinosaur Designs, Elizabeth Ann McGregor, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art and Rafael Bonachela, Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company handing out the 5 prizes to the very excited winners.

Other guests included Richard Morris, British Consul General, Juliana Enberg from Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Josephine Ridge from Sydney Festival, Marah Braye from Biennale of Sydney, Brian Parkes from Object Gallery, Same Heine, Regional Commercial Manager of British Airways and John Simpson, Strategic Advisor, Office of the CEO, National Australia Bank.
