Each year the British Council is impressed by the depth of talented young Australians creating work of all types. This makes choosing only six winners very hard! This year, we’ve asked applicants if they’d share their applications with us on our website.

Realise Your Dream is a professional development award offered by British Council Australia. It is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents aged 30 and under as at 31 July 2008. It’s part of the British Council’s strategy to help develop mutually beneficial and lasting links between creative leaders in Australia and Britain. It’s made possible with the support of major sponsor NAB (National Australia Bank), along with British Airways, Stamford Hotels and Resorts, M&C Saatchi, Access PR and triple j.

There are six Realise Your Dream Awards to be won in 2008 which each consist:

  • A professional development visit to the UK designed by the British Council in consultation with the winner
  • A return economy flight to the UK thanks to British Airways valued at AU$2,500
  • $8,000 cash thanks to NAB to help cover living expenses in the UK
