The international theatre scene is ready and waiting for Ascot Vale director Leticia Caceres. Caceres, 30, has been named one of only six winners in the British Council’s 2008 Realise Your Dream program. The program awards $10,000 scholarships for creative young Australians to travel to the UK to meet and work with the best of the best in their field. I’ll go to London and I’m going to meet Blast Theory, a really interesting group of artists fusing new media technology and theatre. “It’ll be wonderful.” Caceres said expanding horizons was a necessity for artists of all disciplines. “I’m so grateful for the grant because to travel and explore your art form is absolutely essential,” she said. “It’s possible to get a bit stuck and stale where you are. So to get a different perspective in a new culture will just really reinvigorate a dialogue of what the practice is really about.” Read Full Article |
